The Mellinger Center provides academic support services to students. Scheduled peer-tutoring sessions are offered each semester in a variety of disciplines and assistance with study skills is available. The center is equipped with a 24-hour computer lab and a regularly staffed Writing Center. Academic support for students with documented disabilities is available. It is also headquarters for the Department of English.
Originally the home of Phi Kappa Pi (later ATO) fraternity, the gracious Tudor-style building features a comfortable lounge with fireplace and terrace. In 1998, the 70-year-old building was converted into the Edward A. Mellinger Teaching & Learning Center with a grant from the Mellinger Foundation of Monmouth.
