Counseling Services are provided at Monmouth College to foster our student’s growth in mind, body and spirit. It is our mission to promote student’s personal development and well- being through a variety of mental health services including early detection and prevention programs.
It is not uncommon for students to experience distress from time to time. The college years are one of the most challenging transitioning periods in life. Adjusting to campus life, increased academic demands, relationship problems, and other personal issues can feel overwhelming at times. Monmouth College students can learn to better deal with present stress, past hurts and memories, as well as future fears and worries by accessing counseling services.

Who we are:
Cindy Beadles, M.S.Ed., Director of Counseling Services
Ms. Cindy Beadles is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a certified Employee Assistance Professional. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Western Illinois University. She has 30 years professional experience in counseling, wellness programming, and child welfare.
Ms. Beadles has expertise in psychological assessment and in working with youth in short-term individual, couple, family and group therapy. In addition, she is trained and specialized in the treatment of alcohol/substance abuse and other addictions, relationship and dysfunctional family issues, behavioral problems, depression/anxiety and adjustment disorders..
Amy Hofmeister, M.S Ed.
Amy Hofmeister is a Monmouth College Alum. She graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Government. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling in 1999 from Western Illinois University. Amy is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol/Drug Counselor. She has 14 years of counseling experience and has had extensive training in dealing with depression and anxiety.
