Each entering student is assigned a faculty adviser. For freshmen, this person will be the instructor in his or her Introduction to Liberal Arts course.
The adviser helps the student select courses and serves as a person to talk to about all aspects of life at the College.
A student may change advisers, if desired, any time after the Introduction to Liberal Arts course is completed. The process of making a change in advisers begins by obtaining the necessary form in the Registrar's Office and then filling out that form with the help of the new adviser.
While a student usually chooses an adviser in a major area of interest, students are free to select any member of the faculty who agrees to serve as an adviser.
Students who are undecided about what to study are encouraged to talk with their advisers. Additionally, students may wish to take a brief assessment to discover best-fit majors.
