Program Requirements

Recommended Classes

The Rush program is one of the most prestigious in the nation and graduates often find themselves in higher positions and/or move up more quickly. To qualify for the Rush Nursing Program, a course of study consisting of several science classes will need to be completed at Monmouth prior to application to Rush. All courses must be completed with a grade of C or better. These courses are as follows:

BIOL 204: Human Anatomy
BIOL 325: Advanced Physiology
BIOL 302: Microbiology
CHEM 101: Nutrition & Food Chemistry
CHEM 140: General Chemistry
CHEM 228: Organic Chemistry
PSYC 101: Introduction to Psychology
PSYC 221: Lifespan Development

MATH 106: Elementary Statistics or
MATH 207: Statistics for the Sciences

(BIOL 150: General Biology and BIOL 200: Cell Biology are also required since these courses are prerequisites for the upper level biology classes)

Other Admission requirements for the Rush program:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Science GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Acceptable GRE scores (if GPA is lower than 3.25)

Other Graduate Schools

Students do not have to attend Rush University. They may choose another graduate school though they will have to research the requirements for the certain school.
