The Annual Awards Banquet
The Office of Intercultural life is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the 2017 Intercultural Life Annual Awards to be presented at the Banquet. The Annual Awards Banquet recognizes student leadership, involvement and organization programing that speak to multiculturalism, diversity and inclusion outside of the classroom. Students who have excelled in academics and various fields are also recognized at the Banquet. We encourage everyone to pause and think of all your peers who have made a difference in fulfilling the above criteria-leadership, involvement and organization programing.
Students Must RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org for the Banquet by Friday April 21 at 5:00pm.
What is the banquet for?
The Intercultural Life Annual Awards Banquet recognizes and honors students, Intercultural life student organizations: International Club, Colorful Voices of Praise, Raices, Spectrum, and Umoja for their outstanding leadership and involvement in multiculturalism and diversity issues on campus, and their collaborators. It is also a time to recognize Intercultural life students who have excelled academically or in other areas through athletic and other talents during their Monmouth College life.
When is the banquet?
Friday, April 28th.
What time does the ceremony begin?
Who can attend the ceremony?
Students who have been nominated and those who nominate are all invited to attend, as well as students in intercultural Life clubs and organizations, and faculty/ staff advisors
What should I wear?
The dress is formal / semi-formal.
Where will the ceremony take place?
Stockdale Center, Highlander Room
How long will the ceremony run?
Approximately 1.5-5 hour s (including the after party)
Will dinner be provided at this event?
A buffet style dinner will be provided.
Does it cost money to attend?
Why should I attend the ceremony?
Attending the ceremony will allow you the opportunity to learn about other students and student organizations’ participation and their impact on intercultural life in particular and Monmouth College life in general.
I was nominated, what do I have to do now?
You will be sent an invitation to the ceremony via email. Please make sure that you RSVP by Friday April 21th at 5:00pm to let us know if you are attending.
To nominate a student or organization (self-nominations are accepted):
- Review the award criteria.
- Complete the nomination form and attach a paragraph that speaks to the nominee’s (individual or organization) qualifications for the award
- Make sure to submit by Monday, April 17 at 5:00pm.
Recipients will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on Frida, April 28 at 6:00pm, in the Highlander Room.
