International Student Services

Planning on coming to study at Monmouth from outside of the United States?

The Office of Intercultural Life provides a variety of different services to international. For all new International Students at Monmouth College the year starts with an International and Overseas American Student Orientation. International Student Services within the Office of Intercultural Life advises students on how to maintain their status as an F-1 or J-1 student and many other SEVIS related services, including recommending the students’ application to SEVIS for Employment Authorization Card, Post Degree Optional Practical Training etc.

New students also get support and advice through Orientation Leaders mentors provided to them by International Student Services. The mentors provide help and guidance to the mentees throughout their first year at Monmouth College.

International and Overseas American students can make use of a multitude of opportunities available at Monmouth College. The college offers a wide range of resources and opportunities, and an ideal environment to help International and Overseas American students to succeed.

International and Overseas American students also have the opportunity to get involved in campus life through student organizations, cultural activities, sports, and social events.

Starting school without adequate preparation can be confusing; orientation is an important element in the transition that students make. The International and Overseas American Orientation and the All New Student Orientation are geared to help students make a smooth transition to the College.

Orientation provides ample opportunity to meet informally with "veteran" international and U.S. students, to learn from their experiences and to make new friends. Even if you have attended another U.S. university and participated in an orientation program before, you would agree that no two schools are alike, so you will find orientation to be extremely useful, and a lot of fun. It is much easier to meet people during orientation and get things done before everyone gets busy when classes begin.
