Hands-on experience opens the doors to most employers and is why 75% of Monmouth students participate in internships to put their classroom learning to practical use, while also gaining valuable technical and personal skills. This experience gives students an advantage in landing their first job and advancing their careers. For students who have yet to select a career path, internships provide an opportunity to explore a variety of careers. In addition to receiving placement help and advice from the Wackerle Career & Leadership Center, students often obtain internships through Monmouth’s network of successful alumni, as well as through faculty members with professional contacts in various industries. It is not unusual for a successful internship to lead to a job offer upon graduation.
