Student Service

Learning through serving others is critical to balanced human development and is an excellent path to leadership development.

Monmouth College supports service experiences in which students have intentional learning goals and reflect actively on what he or she is learning throughout the experience.

Service-learning programs emphasize accomplishments which address community issues and include features which foster participants' learning about larger social issues and an understanding of the reciprocal learning and service which can occur between students and community members.

Giving back should be the goal of any experience. The Office of Student Involvement hosts different programs to help students discover opportunities locally and globally.

Saturday of Service

Saturday of Service is a day that occurs each fall semester in which students at Monmouth College volunteer within the local community at pre-assigned locations.

Volunteer Fair

On Saturday, November 15, 20115 from 11:00 to 3:30, students at Monmouth College will volunteer within the local community at pre-assigned locations. It is a great opportunity to spend time with your friends, your student organization, or meet new people who are interested in helping neighbors in the local community who are in need of assistance.

Alternative Spring Break

Each year during Spring Break, a group of students travel to a destination outside of the city of Monmouth to explore issues that affect those in other communities. These trips often consist of full days helping the community, learning about local issues, and enjoying the area.
